Collaboration

At the Faculty of Geosciences, we conduct research for a sustainable future for all. The challenges facing our society - such as climate change, biodiversity loss, environmental pollution and inequality - require a multifaceted approach. That's why, as a faculty, we work closely with other knowledge institutions, public organisations and businesses.

Our research has the greatest impact when applied or integrated by societal partners. Active involvement of these partners is essential to turn scientific knowledge into meaningful action. Through (Senior) Fellows and Special Professorships, we collaborate with external experts who contribute to education and research at a strategic level, thereby strengthening the link between science and practice. We build alliances with national and international knowledge partners, with whom we realise joint research programmes and appointments. In this way, we gain complementary knowledge and prepare for a sustainable future for all.

We believe it is important to cooperate equally with international partners in countries where we conduct research. In this way, we share different types of knowledge and science and together we gain multiple perspectives on the challenges we face. We highlight here some collaborations with the Global South.

Collaborative partners

We greatly value collaboration and co-creation with other knowledge institutions, governments and social partners in projects and through (Senior) Fellows or Special Professorships. They work with us at a strategic level on research and education with social and scientific impact. Drawing on their own expertise and organisation, the Fellow or Special Professor strengthens the sustainable connection between science and practice.
