The Faculty Club has been collaborating with subject-specific partners and networks for many years. These include Studium Generale, the International Neighbour Group, the PROUT PhD Network, Jong OBP, the Alumni Network and Future Food Utrecht. Furthermore, for the past few years we have been supporting subject-specific activities organised by students, our future alumni. These collaborations are aimed at raising the club’s profile amongst staff and (future) alumni.

Utrecht Union

Together with students from Utrecht Union, we organised a series of interview evenings at the Faculty Club. Utrecht Union brings students together with leading speakers from a wide range of disciplines, giving them the opportunity to meet public figures who are helping to shape our world. This collaboration aims to raise the Faculty Club’s profile amongst future alumni. In recent years, we have had the pleasure of welcoming exceptional speakers such as the writer Francince Oomen, Ambassador Frank Mollen and comedian Youp van ’t Hek. 

Future Food Utrecht

Sustainability and making responsible choices are key priorities for Utrecht University. To contribute to these goals, the Faculty Club and Vineyard collaborate with organisations such as Future Food Utrecht. Future Food Utrecht brings together scientists to work on sustainable, healthy and reliable food systems for a growing global population.

In 2025, this collaboration took the form of organising a wide range of events in the living room during Food Week in May. These ranged from surprisingly tasty insect-based beers to lupin snacks and savoury Fungi-bitterballen at the Future Food Borrel, right through to the Asparagus Dinner, which focused on seasonal and sustainable food.

This collaboration continues throughout Food Year 2025, with a different dish in the spotlight each month, accompanied by an in-depth article exploring the link between food and science.
