A heartwarming Happy Hour
On Thursday 2 November, we will kick off our birthday month with a festive Happy Hour. The Faculty Club's Happy Hours are monthly musical get-togethers. Have a nice chat while enjoying music, a drink (half price), snacks and a special programme.
Presentation lustrum book
The property's rich history, our members' experiences and plans for the future. Extraordinary stories that deserve to be collected. On Tuesday 7 November, we will therefore present our lustrum book. Here you can read more about the history, (former) board members have their say, members look back on their favourite activities and the Rector Magnificus dreams about an expansion on the Utrecht Science Park.
Lustrum lecture with architect Jaap Dijkman
After studying architecture at TU Delft, Jaap Dijkman started as a furniture maker. He has had his own architectural firm since 1984. The Faculty Club asked him to make the building on Achter de Dom suitable as a university 'living room'. On Monday 13 November, we will have a talk with the architect about the process and development of the Faculty Club. The lecture will conclude with a festive dinner.
Final birthday party
On Thursday 16 November, one day before the Faculty Club's official birthday, we will end our festive month with a big party. One more toast together to the birthday of Utrecht University's nicest living room. A surprising evening with a special theme, more on that later.
Past activities
Happy Hour - Discover the lustrum
On Thursday 6 April, we organised a festive evening, a real surprise party. A special programme was put together in cooperation with Parnassos. Ronald Bleys revealed the lustrum theme and the plans for this year, dancers and musicians performed, and city poet Hanneke van Eijken recited a poem.
Outdoor event - Cirque du sol
The Faculty Club's very first outdoor event took place on Thursday 8 June. In cooperation with University College Utrecht and the University Service Departments, we organised a fantastic summer festival on the beautiful campus of University College Utrecht. Together, we entered the world of 'Cirque du Sol' with circus acts, music, singing and dancing.
Also fun - the Faculty Club bingo card!
Want to experience the lustrum to the fullest? Then join this year's Faculty Club Bingo. The card contains nine different challenges. Take a picture with the club manager, visit a lustrum activity, place the lustrum sticker on a special spot and dream together with the programme commission about the future of the club. You can collect the bingo card at the Faculty Club bar or download the card online and print it out.
