Have patients with anorexia actually recovered after treatment?

Research shows that patients with anorexia nervosa often report that they continue to suffer from a distorted body image after treatment. In other words, despite the fact that they have a normal weight and normal eating pattern, they continue to feel fatter than they actually are. The aim of the current study is to systematically assess whether patients still have a distorted body image subsequent to treatment for their eating disorder. This not only concerns looking at how someone views their body, but also how they experience their body and how they move it.
