"Make diversity and inclusion measurable"
Onur Sahin is PhD student at the Faculty of Social Behavioural Sciences, doing research on inclusion at the workplace.
“It is important to tackle inequality at various levels. Token measures are easy enough to put in place; structural changes are trickier.”
“We need proper tools to make diversity and inclusion measurable. We need to look at the people who come to work and study here. Who are they? And who are the people who leave? What kind of barriers do these people experience? The instruments are also needed for looking at how policy affects people’s sense of feeling included. Are they starting to feel more at home after a certain kind of policy has been set in motion, allowing them to authentically be who they are?”
“I believe that we should take up a frontline position in implementing an evidence-based diversity and inclusion policy.”
