About the founders

Prof. dr. Rosi Braidotti is professor emerita at Utrecht University. She has received honorary doctorates from the Universities of Helsinki and Linköping and the Humboldt Forschungspreis. She is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of the Humanities, a member of the Academia Europaea, and a Knight in the Order of the Netherlands Lion. She has published dozens of books that have been translated into more than twenty languages.

Prof. dr. Anneke Smelik is an alumna of Film Studies at Utrecht University. She is professor emerita of Visual Culture at Radboud University Nijmegen. She has published numerous articles and books on cultural memory, film, popular culture, and fashion. She is inspired by Western Buddhism to apply spiritual values in her research as well as in everyday life.
As students and scientists, we were active in the women's movement of the 1970s and 1980s. We were carried along by history. Now it is our turn to help the next generation of promising female scientists.
