opportunities. As a Friend, you make a concrete difference to the study time of the current generation of students. Your donation goes entirely to Utrecht University's students.
Impact of your friendship
As a Friend, you give students equal opportunities. A scholarship helps students in acute financial hardship, and gives others the chance to develop further.
Take Mahdi, a Master's student in Artificial Intelligence. The war left him in financial difficulty, but thanks to a scholarship he was still able to complete his degree. Or Maryam: a grant enabled her to present her Master's thesis at an international conference. Without that grant, she would have had to pass up the opportunity.
Together with more than 6,000 Friends, we support over 200 applications every year. Even a small scholarship can make a big difference, helping students grow into the scientists, innovators and leaders of tomorrow.
As a Friend, you also receive an invitation to the annual Donors' Day. You visit special places within the university that are not normally accessible. And with the Friends Pass, you enjoy exclusive benefits all year round, such as free access to the University Library, the University Museum and the Botanical Gardens, and discounts at Parnassos and Olympos.
