Method

DIS primarily wants to enable the degree programmes and programmes to develop plans themselves for information, matching and admission in the Bachelor's phase and Master’s phase. In this, they collaborate with study societies.

The project group has a facilitating role in this process. The group members are specialists in matters such as selection and admission, legal aspects, communication and information, and diversity among pupils and students.

In the first phase of the project (2019-2021), 19 Bachelor's programs from all seven faculties and University College Utrecht participated in the project. In the second phase (from 2021), all faculties and University College Utrecht, plus now University College Roosevelt, will again participate in the project with a total of 31 Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes.

The project group discusses with representatives of the degree programmes what wishes they have for a more diverse intake, supports in making plans, and advises on communication, information, outreach and admission. This approach is in accordance with DIS1, but training courses are now clustered by theme. Based on the input from the training courses, the project team determines the target groups that DIS2 will focus on. In doing so, the project team facilitates and advises colleagues from the study programs as well as possible to achieve the set goals. The advantage of clustering is that programs can learn from each other and perhaps work together in making plans or sharing good practices.
