Research done at the department of Physics addresses topics that can inspire the curiosity of the public. We therefore make a special effort to bring the results of our research to the attention of the public. We do this by writing press releases, producing small video clips and giving popular lectures, examples of which can be found on our YouTube channel.
We especially want to inspire school teachers and pupils. For this audience, our staff and students regularly organise and participate in activities, such as master classes and research projects (profielwerkstuk) for pre-university pupils, guest lectures in schools, educational projects for school teachers, and talent programmes (via the U-Talent programme).
We also directly support schools in the region with the Bovenbouwpracticum and the Ionising Radiation Labcourse.
