Sharing Knowledge

Creative Humanities Academy

The Creative Humanities Academy offers post-academic education for professionals in the cultural sector, uniquely focused on their specific case. Think: lectures, workshops and courses or long-term consultancy within projects. Our team members have specialisations in cultural theory, philosophy and (creative) methods.

Charting the cultural landscape

Social and political institutions can seek the assistance of Utrecht University researchers in the fields of media (film, television, new media), music, theatre and culture in a societal context. Our researchers collaborate with partners from the cultural sector, the corporate industry and society in - amongst others - the Data School, the Postcolonial Studies Initiative, the 'Why Theatre?' programme, the Sharing Arts Lab, [urban interfaces], the Doing Gender lecture series, the Scenografie Platform (Scenography Platform) and the research group Media Industries, Infrastructures and Insitutions.

Commissioned research

The research activities of the Department of Media and Culture Studies are organised in three research groups: Gender Studies, Musicology and Media and Performance. If you are interested in commissioning research or in consultancy or training in any of these areas, please contact the research group in question or Institute for Cultural Inquiry (ICON).
