Communication from a strategic theme
A strategic theme is not a subbrand but follows the corporate identity. In hierarchy, a strategic theme takes priority over a sub-sender. So for strategic themes we don't use the sender block.
How do I communicate from a strategic theme?
There are 2 possibilities, option 1 being the preferred one:
1) Use the strategic theme/focus area/hub as the title of the communication output. Place an explanatory text of the strategic theme/focus area/hub on the communication medium.

2) For some means of communication it is not possible to maintain option 1. An alternative is to link the strategic theme/focus area/hub to the UU logo without colouring the sender block. This is to emphasize the unity in sender and not to make a visual distinction. Put the strategic theme in the Merriweather Regular font. Place an explanatory text of the strategic theme/focus area/hub on the communication medium.

Hierarchy UU, Strategic Theme & communities and platforms
But how does that work with Communities or Platforms within a Strategic Theme? There is a setup for that too, where the community/platform is visually in the hierarchy above the Strategic Theme. The logic behind this is that the more concrete the topic, the more attention it gets. The Strategic Theme is then more subtly present.
