Partnerships

Utrecht University works closely with external partners in the field of education and research, both regionally, nationally and internationally. Clear communication is essential. There are various forms of cooperation that also have different ways of communicating.

Utrecht University as main partner: Use the UU corporate identity

    Cooperation with UU as main partner

    Because the UU is the main partner, the UU corporate identity is leading. In this form of cooperation, no project logo is used. This applies to all online and offline communication.

    Guidelines when the UU is the main partner
    • The UU's corporate identity is leading.
    • The website about the collaboration falls within the uu.nl domain, i.e.: collaborationname.uu.nl.
    • The UU logo is placed at the top.
    • Underneath that comes the name of the collaboration.
    • Describe the nature of the collaboration and the role of the partners in a boiler plate text.
    • Underneath are the logos of the partners.
    • Within the UU's corporate identity, there is space for the name and/or logo of the external partner(s) on every medium. Placement of logos and/or names of the partners per medium:
      • Website: At the bottom of the page.
      • Brochure/printing/report: At the bottom of the title page/back page/insert.
      • PowerPoint presentation: In the subtitle on the title slide in text (no logos). Logos on the title slide at the bottom (so not at the top next to the UU logo).
      • Press release: No mention of logos partners at the top next to UU logo but at the bottom of the press release in text or with logos.

    Two equal partners: use a neutral style

    When communicating with two equal partners, a neutral style is used. The logos are mentioned at the top of the page. Underneath the name of the collaboration. And at the bottom of the page is a boiler plate text that describes the role of the partners. This applies to online and offline communication.

    Guidelines for communication with 2 equal partners
    • The logos of both partners are mentioned.
    • A project logo is not allowed.
    • The site about the collaboration will be on an independent url, so not under uu.nl/collaborationname. However, it is possible to refer to the collaboration on uu.nl.
    • In a boiler board text, state what kind of collaboration it is and explain the role of both partners.

    More than two partners: use a neutral style

    When communicating with more than two partners, a neutral style is used. At the top of the page is the name of the collaboration. At the bottom of the page is a boiler plate text that describes the role of the partners. The logos are also mentioned at the bottom of the page. This applies to online and offline communication.

    Guidelines for communication with more than two equal partners
    • A project logo is allowed.
    • The site about the collaboration will be on an independent url, so not under uu.nl/collaborationname. However, it is possible to refer to the collaboration on uu.nl.
    • In a boiler board text, state what kind of collaboration it is and explain the role of both partners.
    • The logos of all the partners are mentioned below.
