Community-Based Research for the Humanities is a cooperation between the Utrecht University Faculty of Humanities and University College Utrecht. We facilitate community-based research for students and support their teachers and academic supervisors.
Our project uses community-based research (CBR) in the humanities to enhance students’ civic engagement and enrich their understanding of the social relevance of their education. It promotes reflection on the contributions that the humanities can make to societal goals, locally as well as globally, offering connection with diversity in the city of Utrecht at large. Our project emphasizes co-creation of knowledge, actively giving community members a voice in the research process, and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration of student-researcher and faculty members. We offer multiple avenues for students, lecturers and societal partners to engage in community-university partnerships
Community-Based Research for the Humanities is a three-year project (2018-2021) funded by the Utrecht Incentive Fund / Utrechts Stimuleringsfonds Onderwijs
