The Utrecht University Fund was established in 1886 by alumni. Its aim, then and now, is to promote the academic climate at Utrecht University. In the year it was established, alumni already managed to raise more than 17,000 guilders! At the time, this was a huge amount which enabled numerous student initiatives to be supported from the outset.
The University Fund has become a well-known name in the Utrecht University community and the place where students, alumni and lecturers meet and inspire each other.
The Utrecht University Fund aims to help Utrecht University grow and flourish in the areas of education, research and the living environment in the University.
The Utrecht University Fund aims to create awareness and involvement among students, university staff, alumni and the city of Utrecht in order to realise projects that help Utrecht University to grow and flourish.
