Your student ID will be checked upon entry, so make sure you have it with you. Just graduated, taking a gap year or don't have a student ID for some other reason? Send an email with your details to safesoundfestival@uu.nl and sign up using the registration form. We will add you to the guest list.
It's great that you're bringing your fellow students to the festival. We ask attendees to still sign up for the sessions on the spot, as there is a maximum capacity per session. You can do this easily and quickly through the website.
We welcome every visitor, whether you attend 1, 2 or all 4 rounds. Even if you attend one session, it's still valuable to drop by.
Accessibility
The Safe & Sound festival takes place in several halls of TivoliVredenburg (Vredenburgkade 11, Utrecht). TivoliVredenburg is easy to reach by public transport and bike. More information on parking and a route description can be found on the TivoliVredenburg website (Dutch).
TivoliVredenburg is accessible for people with disabilities. More information on accessibility can be found on the TivoliVredenburg website (Dutch).
Park your bicycle for free, dry and safe in one of the secure parking facilities in the neighbourhood. U-Stal Vredenburg is the closest parking facility.
In case you haven't noticed, there is a guide strip for the visually impaired next to our building. Please do not park your bicycle there!
Since October 2024, there has been an official bicycle parking ban in the alleys around Tivoli Vredenburg. The Hollandse and Vlaamse Toren are being redesigned by the municipality with the aim of making them safer and more liveable. Incorrectly parked bicycles will therefore be actively removed.
Yes, the guarded cloakroom has room for your coat, bag and other belongings. Please note that large bags cannot be taken into the halls.
No. You are not allowed to take your bag into the venues, and Tivoli does not have space for bags in the cloakroom. Please leave your bag at home.
Food and drinks
Every Safe & Sound attendee will receive three consumption tokens, which can be handed in at the bar for a drink. After that, the cost of a drink is at your own expense. Participants in the first round will be offered a (vegetarian) lunch. Furthermore, small snacks and/or fruit will be available throughout the day. Snacks will be served at the borrel.
Consumption tokens can only be redeemed during Safe & Sound. We would therefore like to ask you to hand in leftover tokens at the designated point when you leave.
You are welcome to bring your own bottle, but it must be empty upon entry. You can refill your bottle at Tivoli Vredenburg.
During the main programme, only non-alcoholic drinks will be served. During the borrel (between 17.00 and 18.00), we will also serve alcohol.
Social safety
Yes, there are social safety coordinators present during the festival and they will be easy to identify. This link will take you to UU's selection guide. This can help you find the right person/agency to help you. Having a hard time finding the right place, or do you have any questions? Please email socialeveiligheid@uu.nl.
Do you want to contribute more to social safety? On our website you can read about the tools the university offers students and staff to create a safe university together.
Photographers will be present at the festival to take atmospheric reports. Don't want your picture taken? Please indicate this to the photographer.
