The 3Rs-Centre Utrecht Life Sciences (ULS) stimulates the development, acceptation and implementation of methods which can replace, reduce and refine animal experiments, the 3R’s. The centre facilitates the 3Rs in education and animal research in many ways, by providing information and advice about 3Rs models.
The centre’s communication activities involve providing information through its website, publishing its newsletters and participating in relevant master programs and the course on Laboratory Animal Science.
The centre is part of the department of Animals in Science and Society, faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Utrecht University. This department focuses on issues pertaining to animal welfare, in the broadest sense, and informs scientists as well as the public about these issues.
