Teaching Scholars Programme
UMC Utrecht and Utrecht University will jointly offer the Teaching Scholars Programme (TSP) for experienced teachers who want to develop in research and knowledge sharing in teaching, referred to as educational scholarship.
This programme emerged from a merger of two previous programmes. UMC Utrecht offered the Teaching Scholars Programme which was specifically focused on medical education, and Utrecht University, through the Centre for Academic Teaching and Learning (CAT), the Educational Research Training Programme for University Teachers (ERTP).
What does the programme entail?
The programme lasts for two years and includes the following:
- Participation in 16 meetings on education.
- Execution of an individual educational research project.
- Writing and publishing a scientific article in an international peer reviewed journal.
- Presenting at an international education congress
Who can participate?
Employees of UMC Utrecht or Utrecht University are eligible to participate if they have a senior teaching qualification in education or similar, as well as extensive (leadership) experience in education. Participants are expected to be available for the TSP one day a week for two years.
How do I apply?
Registration for this programme goes through the faculty (vice) dean. The registration deadline is 16 October 2023. Registration requires a motivation letter, CV with emphasis on teaching, a support letter by the supervisor for required time investment and expenses and a publication list. An (initial) plan for a TSP project is expected upon registration.
