Vacancy for Student Assistant (2023-2024)

The Contesting Governance UGlobe Flagship within the Strategic Theme of Institutions for Open Societies (IOS) seeks to hire a student assistant who can commit to one day per week until the beginning of September. Please note that there is a very possibility that the position will be extended, so candidates demonstrating longer availability will get priority. The position will start as soon as possible.

The primary responsibility of the student assistant will be supporting the coordinators of platform and core team members in the organization of events and running of the platform. This involves managing the platform email account, booking rooms, corresponding with platform members, attending meetings, making visually attractive posters and flyers and providing the core team with different forms of administrative support. We are looking for someone with excellent organizational skills, a proactive attitude, great team work, an interest in interdisciplinarity and the themes that the platform works on.

Requirements

  • You are currently enrolled as a student in a university in The Netherlands, in a degree that is relevant to one of the themes addressed by the Contesting Governance group;
  • An excellent command of spoken and written English;
  • A professional attitude and behavior that includes reliability, a pro-active mindset, integrity, precision, good communication skills and collegiality;
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to operate independently;
  • Enthusiasm!
