UU and Universiteit van Nederland launch Atomen Enzo podcast
Available weekly starting at 2 October
Utrecht University and Universiteit van Nederland are joining forces. From today, 2 October, you can listen to Atomen Enzo: a new podcast from Utrecht University that is part of the Universiteit van Nederland podcast network. This is the first time a university has released a podcast in this collaborative way with Universiteit van Nederland.
About the podcast
Right at the very epicentre of scientific thinking in the Netherlands, Utrecht University, there’s one man who doesn’t belong. Florian Helinski is a self-confessed science dropout, searching for answers in a science world. He abandoned physics and chemistry at secondary school as quickly as he could, and his end-of-school report showed an E for maths. Could he have got more out of it? He thinks so. Maybe you could as well.
In Atomen Enzo, Helinski seizes his last chance. He asks everything that comes to mind: from numbers and data to biology, natural laws, climate and atoms and stuff. Will he succeed? And is he secretly a science mind in disguise?"
The collaboration
Utrecht University produces the podcast Atomen Enzo, while the University of the Netherlands handles the final editing. By including it in the University of the Netherlands’ podcast network, scientific content from Utrecht reaches a broader audience.
Many university podcasts go unnoticed, despite their value. So, when Florian Helinski asked for support with his podcast, we saw an opportunity. We refined the format and managed the final editing. Josephine Hoogland, head of audio at the University of the Netherlands, explains: “Helinski is a quick, sharp, and witty host, which gives the episodes energy and momentum. The result is so strong that Atomen Enzo has become a true UvNL podcast, produced by Utrecht University.”
About the Host
Florian Helinski is a storyteller and moderator at Utrecht University’s Faculty of Science. He gathers stories from scientists and transforms them into articles, videos, and audio. As a humanities scholar among scientists, he asks the questions listeners want answered.
Atomen Enzo will be available weekly starting 2 October on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and other podcast platforms.
