Chris Backes, professor of environmental law at Utrecht University, is intensively involved in the legal aspects of solving the nitrogen pollution crisis in the Netherlands.

In the national newspapers NRC and FD (Financieele Dagblad), two large interviews with professor Backes were published. He was able to showcase the research he and his colleagues did on possible and impossible pathways to solving this case.
