UCU Students Raise Money for Children with Muscle Diseases

Winners Raze less Raise more.
The winners of the challenge, who, according to the jury, 'showed great growth and admirable persistence!'

In order to raise money for the 'Spieren voor Spieren' children's center in the Wilhelmina Children's Hospital, 43 UCU students committed to not shaving their beards for a month. Together the students raised 740 euros.

The students all shaved their beards on March 26th, after which they did not touch their razors for a full month. The growing process could closely be followed through the 'Raze less, Raise more!' Facebook page, on which the participating students posted their beard selfies. For each unshaved beard, sponsors Appromoters and WP Masters together donated 15 euros. Money was also raised through individual donations. The winner of the challenge received a one-night stay at the Hilton Schiphol hotel.

The 'Spieren voor Spieren' children’s center, which works on the diagnosis and treatment of children with muscle diseases, will use the money for toys and decorations for their waiting room.
