Having difficulties articulating your problem? RDM Support offers you help writing your proposal.

The first call is the Open eScience Call. This call is especially for research that requires the development and application of advanced research software.

  • March 16th is the deadline for the pre-proposal.

The second call is the Call for Sustainable Software. With support via this call you can improve the quality and sustainability of your research software.

  • On February 21st an information event about this call will be held;
  • March 16th is the deadline for the pre-proposal.

When a fund is granted, a research software specialist from the eScience Center will collaborate with you on your research project. You can apply for 1-2 person years of in-kind support to develop software and digital tooling.

Support with writing the proposal

If you want to apply for one of these funds, you need to explain thoroughly what you want, what is needed and why you need the eScience Center's help. The research engineers at Utrecht University can help you articulate your problem and assess the innovativeness of your approach. They can also advise on the technological feasibility of your proposal and what expertise you need in your project. This way it is more likely your proposal will be granted.

In addition, they may collaborate in the actual project. This will help preserve the knowledge that is gained in your research project. By participating in a project with the eScience Center, you ensure that your software will be understandable and reusable by others.

If you need help with writing your proposal, then contact the research engineers of RDM Support. Please send an email to info.rdm@uu.nl for help or questions about both calls. They are there to assist you.
