The orange carpet has been rolled out, the party decorations are up and the cake is ready. On Wednesday morning 16 January, Director of YOUth Research Chantal Kemner could proudly address the YOUth team. A new milestone has been reached: 1000 participants to the programme Child & Teenager.

A beautiful number! It is actually more than a number, it represents 1000 individual children and their parents who all participate in YOUth. Chantal Kemner tells that this milestone both fills her with pride and astonishes her. The wall of fame in the KKC gives each of these participants a face. It is a colourful collection of polaroids on which all children and teenagers smile to the visitors. Not only the participants, but the collected data also make Kemner proud. The quality is high and the data is handled with care, thanks to the new data management plan of YOUth. So the team worked really hard for this beautiful result.

There are so many of them! This is really unique for the social sciences.

In order to share these beautiful results, YOUth has already been on social media for a while (Facebook). It is important that participants are involved in the research, but also that YOUth becomes even more well-known in the province of Utrecht. Another platform was added this week. YOUth now also has an Instagram account called @youthonderzoek. Please follow it here! YOUth shares all kinds of trivia and news on the Instagram account, but also events.

In closing, it is great that there are 1000 participants to YOUth Child & Teenager. But we are still hard at work to cross the magical border of 3000 participants. What is so great about it is that everyone from the province of Utrecht can participate!

So are you a child aged 8,9 or 10, or do you know any children that age? Please visit the website for more information or request the information pack (no strings attached). We might be able to celebrate the next milestone soon!
