Studium Generale lecture with Marcel Lubbers

Our board member Marcel Lubbers was recently invited by Studium Generale to give a presentation. The lecture addressed the question why radical right-wing movements are on the rise all over Europe. For instance, “Dutch people first.”, with this slogan, the PVV won the elections at the end of last year. According to the party, asylum seekers, labor migrants, and Muslims pose a threat to “real” Dutch people. These views are not new. So why did voters choose radical right-wing parties in such large numbers now? And why does this image of the enemy resonate so strongly throughout Europe?
