Seline Trevisanut on the role of private actors in the offshore energy industry

The Principal Investigator of the SUSTAINABLEOCEAN Project – Dr. Seline Trevisanut – participated in a two-day workshop on public-private partnership approaches in the energy sector, organized by the College of Law and Public Policy (CLPP) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University. During the workshop, Dr. Trevisanut spoke on the role of private actors in the offshore energy industry, providing insight into relevant legal developments and practices.

The workshop hosted global energy experts from various backgrounds, combining perspectives from both practice and academia. The workshop was taught by experts in international energy law and policy, including Dr. Trevisanut, and the roundtable discussions of the workshop included representatives from Qatar’s legal community who specialize in commercial and energy fields.

The 2-day event examined how public-private partnerships can offer opportunities for private sector developers, financiers, and entrepreneurs to unlock new opportunities in Qatar’s energy sector. Upon the conclusion of the workshop, the CLPP launched a new International Law and Policy Research Program, aimed at enabling the exchange of information between international academics and the energy industry in Qatar.
