Reminder: Keep developing yourself as a teacher - new teacher development offer

Would you like to encourage your students to learn more actively or to facilitate collaboration among them? Would you like to start using generative AI in your teaching practice? Or would you like to know how to give your students motivational feedback? These are just a few of the topics that will be covered in workshops organised by the Centre for Academic Teaching and Learning (CAT) in the new academic year.

As a UU staff member with teaching responsibilities, you can contact the CAT with any questions you may have about preparing, delivering and evaluating your teaching. The CAT helps you to continue developing as a teacher, for example through a wide range of workshops.

Upcoming workshops

With the summer holidays just around the corner, we at the CAT are already looking ahead to the start of the new academic year. A number of interesting sessions are already planned. Why not kick off the new year with a session focusing on student wellbeing and find out what role you, as a lecturer, can play in discussing this with your students?

A series of three workshops focusing on generative AI will also be held. You will learn how to incorporate it into your teaching practice, how to discuss it with your students, and how to make your assessment AI-resilient.

You can also attend a session on encouraging active learning amongst your students, where you’ll learn which engaging teaching activities you can use and which teaching spaces are best suited to them. Or a workshop on how to guide students in collaboration, where you’ll be introduced to the tools from the collaboration grid.
