Recap Beyond Technology: Utrecht AI Event 2024

On 26 November 2024, the Utrecht AI Event took place at TivoliVredenburg. Over 600 participants came together to exchange knowledge and explore the power of multidisciplinary collaboration in AI research.
The event brought together experts from business, government, academia, and education to discuss the broad impact of artificial intelligence (AI) and the collaboration required to implement AI responsibly and effectively.
The programme opened with a panel discussion featuring Jacqueline Rutjens (Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations), Carl Moons (UMC Utrecht), Marjolijn Zwetsloot (U-TECH Community), and Marco Li Mandri (ING). They shared their insights and experiences on AI applications in the workplace, the opportunities it provides, and the challenges that remain.
Carl Moons highlighted the importance of co-creation in healthcare AI, stating: “Successful AI in healthcare revolves around co-creation and forward-thinking: addressing not only today's needs but also those of tomorrow. Moreover, AI must prioritise patients and citizens, not just professionals.”
