Payal Arora, Professor of Inclusive AI Cultures, has been invited to serve as a member of the Advisory Committee of the United Nations University Operating Unit on Policy-Driven Electronic Governance (UNU-EGOV), a research centre and think tank of the United Nations University.

Development, environmental sustainability, and peace

“I’m looking very much forward to it”, Arora says. “Along with two other international experts and the Rector of the United Nations University, I will apply my expertise on Global South user experience with global data and AI governance. In doing so we will provide strategic guidance on inclusive and responsible mechanisms and applications of digital technologies.”

The Unit is the first in its kind and supports the United Nations system and member states in transforming the mechanisms of governance and in building effective governance capabilities through strategic applications of digital technologies. The aim is to contribute to inclusive social and economic development, environmental sustainability, and peace.
