New prize established for mid-career researchers

The Dr Hendrik Muller's Vaderlandsch Fonds Foundation in The Hague has established a new prize for mid-career researchers: The Dr Hendrik Muller Prize. From 2019, the prize will be awarded every two years to a mid-career researcher in the humanities or social sciences.

In the year of nomination, the researcher must have obtained his or her PhD no more than 15 years ago and must hold a position at a Dutch university or a Dutch research institute. The prize consists of a sum of 25,000 euros and is intended as a contribution to a research project at the laureate’s discretion.

Nominations for the Dr Hendrik Muller Prize 2019 can be submitted up to and including 15 June 2019. The following individuals and institutions may submit nominations:

  • The executive boards of Dutch universitities
  • Faculty deans of Dutch universities
  • Directors of Dutch research institutes dedicated to the humanities and social science
  • Academy members, members of the Council for the Humanities and members of the Social Sciences Council of the Academy.
