More study places available for students

Due to the easing of the coronavirus restrictions we are able to welcome students to the University Library for self-study again. The study spaces must be booked in advance.

Study spaces will be opened in two stages:

Starting Monday the 29th of June: 57 self-study spots in the University Library City Centre.

Starting the 6th of July: 80 self-study spots in the University Library Utrecht Science Park.

The libraries will be open for self-study on weekdays from 8.30 a.m. to 5 p.m. In order to be of service to as many students as possible, the study places are for now offered in four-hour timeslots. If you would like to make a reservation for a study place, please email studyspaces@uu.nl. You will then receive information about the further procedure.

Study spot on recommendation of study advisor

Study spots for students who do not have a good alternative at home remain available on the recommendation of study advisors. From the 29th of June these study spots will be located in the Marinus Ruppert bulding.

Online study spot

Students who couldn't reserve a study spot, or those who prefer to study at home, can use the daily online study spot (in Dutch only) of the Skills Lab and the University Library. This study “room” offers structure for studying by participating daily (via MS Teams) in the joint start and guidance at fixed times during the day.

Opening times for returning and renewing materials unchanged

Opening times for returning and renewing material remain unchanged. Staff and students of Utrecht University can borrow and return items in the university libraries from Monday to Friday, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. These items have to be requested in advance via WorldCat.
