MiBAC grant for Gandolfo Cascio

Dr. Gandolfo Cascio (Italian Language and Culture) is a charter member of the scientific Comitato Nazionale per le celebrazioni del Tricentenario della nascita di Giuseppe Baretti and has received a grant of 45.000 euros from the MiBAC (Italian Ministry for Culture and Heritage).

The grant will be destined to research activities on the European critic and translator Giuseppe Baretti (Turin, 1719 – London, 1789) and will allow the working group to organize a series of conferences and international meetings. In particular Dr Cascio will be enabled to study in depth the role of Baretti’s translations and write on his essential role as a cultural mediator between the Italian, French and the English literary world.
