Mathieu Segers wins UU Publi Prize 2014

At the UU New Year’s reception Mathieu Segers has been awarded the UU Publi Prize 2014 for his numerous media appearances and the quality of his contributions about the European Union.

One of the qualities that the jury found in Mathieu’s work was 'his appreciation of a strong sense of history'. Mathieu’s work was also praised for the fact that it systematically highlighted the results of scholarly research into the process of European integration in a field dominated by strong opinions and poor fact-finding.

Bas van Bavel had also been nominated for his work on inequality, but the prize went to Mathieu, whom we congratulate most warmly.
