Set up additional authentication before traveling

Library applications outside the EU safely accessible with additional authentication

Utrecht University prioritises a secure work and study environment. The protection of valuable information is an important part of this. Therefore, the UU, where necessary, is gradually implementing the use of additional authentication (also called Two-Factor Authentication) for more and more of its services and systems. Now the services of the University Library are next.

For secure access to library services, such as access to journal articles, you need additional authentication as of 1 October 2017 if you log in outside the EU. If you are staying outside Europe for a short or longer period of time and if you want to be sure of access to all the journals offered by the library, please set up additional authentication.

Intranet UU and the UU ITS website provide simple steps to set up additional authentication.
