On Monday 16 April Montaigne will host another research carousel themed Effects of law in practice. Four Montaigne researchers present their research, and hope for an interesting interaction and discussion with the audience
Frans van Dijk - newly appointed professor in Empirical analysis of legal systems - and Martje Boekema will present on interactions between de judiciary and the economy; Frans presents his work on the potential economic impact different aspects of independence may have, Martje then turns to the influence of the legal infrastructure on companies’ business decisions. After a short break, we will then shift our focus to criminal law. Specifically Lisa Ansems shares experiences of criminal defendants in court hearings, and finally Joep Lindeman and Pauline Jacobs present their findings in a project exploring pre-trial detention practices in the EU.
In short, all the ingredients for an interesting afternoon are present, we are now only searching for a great audience! So make sure you do not miss this.
