Innovative 3D dynamic models to study laboratory animals
Daniela Salvatori (recently appointed as Professor at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Utrecht University and Central Animal Facility, LUMC) and Beerend Hierck (Anatomy teacher LUMC) have received a 22k grant from the Gratama foundation. Their research aims to develop dynamic holographic 3D models.
With the models they want to study and acquire knowledge of mouse and rat anatomy; the dynamic models will mimic operations and study anatomical phenotype of genetically modified animals. This research project extends from existing research on the efficacy of 3D human anatomy and will be done in collaboration with the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.
