Impression of UCU Homecoming 2017

UCU Alumni at the first Homecoming

On 3 and 4 November 2017, alumni from UCU’s classes of 2002, 2007, and 2012 returned to campus to celebrate the 5th, 10th or 15th anniversary of their graduation from UCU at the first UCU Homecoming. On Friday evening we kicked off the event with dinner in a tastefully decorated Jazzmans café, which was followed by a party in UCSA Bar, where many alumni of other years joined the festivities. The Homecoming programme on Saturday programme consisted of breakfast table discussions hosted by UCU’s Heads of Department, mini lectures by UCU teachers and alumni, and a speech on LAS education in the Netherlands by Jeen Haalboom and Dean James Kennedy.

The feedback from participants indicates alumni highly appreciated the event being organised, and they loved returning to our campus and classrooms. Of course we are already looking ahead and collecting ideas that can help us improve the format for future editions of Homecoming.

Classes of 2003, 2008 and 2013: Homecoming 2018 will take place on Saturday 13 October, so mark your calendar and stay tuned!
