How do we measure the mass loss of the Greenland ice sheet?

Visual story of a research expedition to Greenland

Climate scientists base their work largely on data from measuring stations on glaciers and ice sheets. Every year, a team of researchers and technicians from Utrecht University go on an expedition to Greenland to maintain the measuring stations and install new ones. PhD candidate Maurice van Tiggelen shares his photos, videos and experiences of last summer’s expedition in this visual story.
