Get funding to start your sustainability living lab project

Do you have an idea for a living lab to accelerate the sustainable development of the university? And are you looking for funding to make your idea come to life? Apply for the Campus Sustainability Grant. The grant, part of the Sustainability Fund, is associated with the Centre for Living Labs and aims to encourage the development of living labs at our university. Amounts up to €50,000 can be awarded. This application round is open until 31 January 2025.

Susanne Nijssen, team manager of the Centre for Living Labs: “We often get requests from students and employees that want to start a living lab to contribute to the sustainable development of the university. In most cases, people need help to get started and get connected to the right stakeholders. In addition to this, money and time are important reasons why some great living lab ideas don't see the light of day. This grant helps us change that.”

In the first round of the Campus Sustainability Grant, three living lab projects were honoured with a grant. Meet the projects:

Through the Campus Sustainability Grant, the university wants to empower new living labs on campus that contribute to UU's strategic sustainability goals. These labs must be user-oriented, take place in a real-life setting and provide a space for learning through co-creation. Members from all disciplines and departments of the university are invited to apply.
