Gandolfo Cascio wins Elsa Morante Prize in category 'Morantiano'

Dr Gandolfo Cascio (Italian Language and Culture) is amongst the winners of the 30th edition of the Elsa Morante Prize, presided over by writer Dacia Maraini, in the category 'Morantiano'. Cascio was awarded for his contribution to the knowledge of Morante's work, particularly her poetry, through his essays and studies. The ceremony was held on December 12th at the Mercadante theatre in Naples.

The Elsa Morante Award jury is chaired by Dacia Maraini, and consists of Silvia Calandrelli, Francesco Cevasco, Enzo Colimoro, Maurizio Costanzo, Roberto Faenza, David Morante, Tjuna ​​Notarbartolo (event director), Paolo Ruffini, Emanuele Trevi, Teresa Triscari. The Elsa Morante Award is organised by the Cultural Prize Elsa Morante, in collaboration with the Culture Department of the City of Naples, the Metropolitan City of Naples and the Teatro Mercadante.
