Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences has funds available for Diamond open access
When publishing in open access journals, APCs (Article Processing Charges) are usually charged. In the case of Diamond open access, there are no charges for authors or readers.
The Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences endorses Diamond open access (DOA) initiatives in the social sciences for knowledge equity and diversity, and supports journals that make Diamond open access publishing possible. To this purpose, the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences has 10,000 euros available.
Funding happens in two ways:
Two routes
Route 1: as an author affiliated with the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences you can request for a donation of 500 euros to be paid to a Diamond open access journal that you have published in. You will find more information on the UU intranet
Route 2: Journals and publication platforms with a proven relevance to the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences can apply for a grant of 2000 euros. There are two application rounds. The deadline for the first round is 18 June, the deadline for the second round is in the autumn.
Have you published in a DOA journal? If so, please complete the relevant application form and send it to the Publishing Support department of the university library: library.publishingsupport@uu.nl
Do you know of a journal that is eligible for structural funding? Please send this message to the journal in question.
