ERC Starting Grant for pharmaceutical researcher Robert de Vries

Robert de Vries

Robert de Vries, Assistant Professor Chemical Biology and Drug Discovery, receives a Starting Grant of 1.5 million euros from the European Research Council (ERC). With this grant, De Vries will investigate which sugar molecules are functional receptors for influenza viruses, with the aim of developing better vaccines. ERC Starting Grants are awarded for pioneering research proposals and offer researchers the opportunity to build their own group.

Previously, De Vries received various grants from NWO for his research, including a LIFT grant for a collaboration with FrieslandCampina (2016), a Veni grant (2014) and a Rubicon grant (2012).
