Conference “What Energy Union?”

On 29 and 30 April 2016, the University of Bocconi hosted the Conference “What Energy Union?” in Milan. The Utrecht Centre for Water, Oceans and Sustainability Law (UCWOSL) was one of the co-organizers of the conference, along with the International Chamber of Commerce – Italian Branch.

The conference was divided in four panels, each discussing one of the following topics:

  • The EU as an Energy Global Actor
  • Old Problems and New Challenges: What European Framework for Energy?
  • What International Protection for Energy Investments?
  • Energy Contracts at the Crossroad between Public and Private Law: the Impact of the Local Law

Dr. Seline Trevisanut  was among the organizers of the event, and moderated the Final Round Table of the Conference. The round table addressed issues related to each of the four panels, offered an engaging debate on the resolution of energy disputes and gave voice to the industry’s concerns.

Seline was joined at the Conference by Natalie Dobson, PhD researcher of the UNIJURIS project, and Nikolaos Giannopoulos, PhD researchers of the SUSTAINABLEOCEAN project.
