Come and watch the UU-Utrecht Canal Pride!
For the fourth year in a row, Utrecht University is participating in Utrecht Pride. Just like previous years, we will sail together with Hogeschool Utrecht, and this year we will also welcome UMC Utrecht on board for the first time! On Saturday 7 June, the party will erupt on the canals. Will you come and wave to us?
There's Pride in Science: Numbers don't Lie!
The theme of this year's boat is: There's Pride in Science: Numbers don't Lie!
Fellow students and colleagues in science, family in Pride: we join hands aboard our boat to celebrate diversity within academia and science. Our role within the LGBTQ+ community not only includes representation and visibility, it is also essential for a healthy, inclusive scientific community.
Statistics show: queer students and staff are increasingly under fire. We live at a time when trust in science and academic freedom are under pressure - often by the same forces that also threaten our rainbow community. This is why we speak out: we are here, we are queer, and we will continue to fight for inclusivity within science!

It is incredible to see the city transform as it does during Pride. Being on the boat and witnessing queer joy in full force - both on the water and among those watching - felt even more significant last year in light of everything happening in the world.
