Since its inception in 2014, the Utrecht Center for Game Research has developed into a blossoming community. By organizing networking meetings, offering valorisation support, and allocating seed money grants to interdisciplinary projects, affilliated game researchers have strengthened their research volume and increased societal impact, especially within the three domains of Games for Learning, Games for Health, and Games for Change. This multitude of activities is now presented in the Game Research magazine.
The magazine presents an overview of the work that has been carried out during the past four years. This encompasses not only research, but also game-related education and collaborative efforts with partners in government, business, society, and other universities. With these efforts, the Utrecht Center for Game Research aims to develop an integrated approach to scientific and social questions by linking academic excellence and fundamental research to Utrecht University’s societal mission.
