Campus in Bloom: Alumni Office Student Ambassador Spring Updates
This spring, our campus is buzzing—and who better to capture the energy than our very own Alumni Office Student Ambassadors? To give you a glimpse of what’s been happening, they have written about some recent highlights.

The spring semester is well underway, and campus life is buzzing with activity. Last weekend, the fashion show with this year’s theme Concrete Bloom took place in a greenhouse, drawing a full crowd. Tickets sold out quickly, with students waiting in line outside the dining hall to get a chance to see the show. The beautiful outfits and creative designs, the result of hard work of designers, make-up artists, models and the Fashion Design Team were auctioned off to support Doctors Without Borders, adding a meaningful conclusion to this memorable evening.
Looking ahead, there are more exciting events to come. This weekend, this year’s musical 9 to 5, adapted from Dolly Parton’s classic, will be performed in the upstairs dining hall. The cast and crew have put in countless hours of rehearsal, and it’s sure to be a great show with three performances scheduled for next weekend.
Later in the semester, the dance show will also take place. Dance classes are already hard at work preparing their routines, and as always, it’s an event everyone looks forward to!
It’s clear that spring on campus is a busy and vibrant time filled with events students have been working on throughout the entire academic year. We are excited to see what else the semester has in store!

During UCUNext Week, the UCUNext Career Fair brought together alumni and current students for an afternoon of connection, inspiration, and exchange. This event was organised by the UCU Student Council alongside the Alumni Office to host alumni. Graduates from the classes of 2013 to 2017 returned to campus to share their post-UCU journeys and offer insights into their careers.
During the fair, alumni hosted stands where students could ask questions, receive advice, and network in a relaxed environment. From policy to finance to the arts, a wide range of industries was represented. These included Vera Verhoef, now Senior Policy Officer at the Dutch Ministry of Defense; Lulu Zhuang, a Senior Integrated Risk Specialist at ABN AMRO Bank; and Tim Kroezen, who transitioned from studying medical sciences at UCU to becoming a comedian.
Students engaged enthusiastically, connecting on LinkedIn, asking thoughtful questions, and reflecting on their own future paths. The event was a great chance to strengthen the UCU community and see firsthand where a UCU education can lead.
A big thank-you to all the alumni who returned to share their stories and support the next generation of UCU graduates!
