Book presentation: Pieter Geyl & Britain

During this book presentation, various speakers will shed light on the well-known but also controversial Dutch historian Pieter Geyl (1887-1966).

After the First World War, he first worked as a journalist in England, and then began his academic career at the University of London. He was also one of the founders of the Institute  of Historical Research.

Speakers include Prof. Leen Dorsman, Prof. Ulrich Tiedau of University London College and drs. Wim Berkelaar of Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Curator Bart Jaski will talk about the Geyl archive that is kept at the Special Collections department of the Utrecht University Library.

Afterwards drinks will be served and there will be the possibility to view original archive documents.

The book presentation will take place on Wednesday 9 November between 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm in the Bucheliuszaal of Utrecht University Library Science Park.
