Dr Asker Pelgrom (Cultural History) is appointed as the new head of the History section at the Royal Netherlands Institute in Rome.

Dr Asker Pelgrom teaches Cultural History at the Department of History and Art History (GKG) and Italian Cultural History at the Department of Languages, Literature and Communication (TLC). He is also a lecturer in History teaching methodology and didactics at the GKG department and the Graduate School of Teaching. His expertise lies in modern Italian cultural history from about 1750, in the historical culture of Italian romanticism, Dutch landscape painting of the nineteenth century and the representation and reception of Italy in modern Dutch culture.
