Application is for the fourth edition of the Mixed Classroom is open from 16 to 23 September via Osiris. The Urban Futures Studio organises this exciting new form of education for ambitious policymakers and students. This year's theme of 'Techniques of Futuring - A Mixed Classroom with Policymakers' is: a circular economy in 2050.
Techniques of Futuring
The aim of this course is to give participants an understanding of Techniques of Futuring. These techniques are developed for knowing and anticipating the future in view of the planetary crisis of the 21th century. Participation in this course offers the possibility to reflect on possible circular futures. Students also gain hands-on experience in connecting ideas to action in collaboration with policymakers, on topics that are both scientifically innovative and societally urgent.
Circular Economy Museum 2050
The course focusses on existing and new practices like scenario planning, back casting, design thinking and science fiction. The Mixed Classroom starts in the second period and a presentation in January 2020 by students in the form of a Circular Economy Museum 2050 will complete the course. Previous closing sessions of this annual course were the Mobility Museum 2050, A Coach for Conversation and the Uninvited Futuring Exhibition.
