Small grants available for master students at Utrecht University exploring the social and cognitive aspects of AI in their thesis project.

Apply for a (mini) Grant-to-the-SCAI

The Special Interest Group (SIG) in Social and Cognitive AI (SCAI) invites Master’s thesis supervisors to apply for a (mini) Grant-to-the-SCAI on behalf of their students.

These small grants (up to €400, four awards available) support Master’s projects exploring the social and cognitive aspects of AI, including topics such as human–AI interaction, cognitive modeling, ethical or social implications of AI, and AI in social or health contexts.

Funds can be used for participant compensation, software, or other small research expenses.

Applications should be submitted by supervisors via the online form, including a short project description and motivation for the applied grant money.

Applications will first be screened on their fit within the different themes of SCAI and the winners will be selected through lottery.

Proposals can be submitted until 19 December 2025 using this form
