Dr Anya Luscombe-Serlie has been awarded a Fulbright Grant to teach and do research in the United States this coming Fall semester for the project 'Eleanor Roosevelt and Liberal Arts Education.' Luscombe is Senior Lecturer at University College Roosevelt and affiliated researcher at the Institute for Cultural Inquiry and the Centre for Television in Transition.
Eleanor Roosevelt, human rights and media
She will do research into Eleanor Roosevelt’s views on education, especially the value she placed on liberal arts and public engagement, and her use of media. Luscombe is being hosted by the Center for Civic Engagement at Bard College in upstate New York. While at Bard she will teach courses on media & human rights and on Eleanor Roosevelt.
The Fulbright Program is a global programme promoting mutual understanding between American citizens and citizens of other countries. Both the US government and the Dutch government support the programme financially.
